Summer Makeup Tips 2011 |  2011 summer makeup trends

  • First, apply a little bit of concealer on your lips to even out their tone, then outline your lips with nude lip liner, filling in the rest of your lips with the liner, as well.
  • After applying, lip liner, put on a sheer lip conditioning balm to help condition your lips and protect them from sun damage.
  • And if you’re looking for a little shine, apply your favorite lip gloss over the lip balm.
  • With the summer heat, it’s best to avoid heavy concelaers or foundations that you’ll just sweat off. Go for a tinted moisturizer (with SPF) which is ideal for almost any skin type or a face powder. When using the face powder, apply with a brush to achieve a natural-looking finish.
  • Want light, long-wearing lip color that also offers protection?
  • Tinted lip conditioners in rose, bronze and pearl are an easy way to add color without overdoing makeup.
  • A great way to ‘brighten up’ your look is also adding color to the eyes.
  • Try using colored mascara in bright blues and burgundies. Remember, when using bright colors, a lot goes a long way. Keep the rest of the face neutral to avoid looking overdone.
  • Blush should be used to contour the cheeks or to create a natural flush.
  • “Pretty in pink” shades are also a popular summer look (and enduring classic). Here’s how to find the perfect one:
  • If you look good in Warm Shades (orange, gold, tomato red and apple green) AND your complexion’s FAIR: Light, transparent pink-beige shades are your best look.
  • MEDIUM: Your best shades are brownish-rose, dusty mauve, and muted plum-pink shades.
  • DARK: Soft, sheer nude pink in berry tones and rose or plum-pinks.
  • If you look good in cool shades (deep blues, jades and rich purple/plums) AND your complexion’s FAIR: Go for sheer, light pinks with blue undertones.
  • MEDIUM: Deeper mauves and rose shades with blue undertones will work well for you.
  • DARK: Try deep plums, deep berry shades, or soft, nude pinks with a touch of beige.
